Loved making this unique wallet for the incredibly talented tattoo artist, Mothra. Her creative vision brought this piece to life, blending functionality with personal flair. Doubling the lining on the interior cash slot and adding a slit to hold extra notes and the addition of the Snap closure to make it a cross between wallet and a mini purse. Love how it came together.

The project came with its own set of challenges, you may notice a bit of variation with the blue leathers used here, turns out I wasn’t storing my leather correctly.. My turquoise pueblo had been sun damaged. To work around this we went with Turquoise Maya Leather for the addition of the wee closure. Glad it worked out in the end. I’ve been making sure there’s no bits of pueblo left out in the sun !

Mothra’s tattoo work is so lovely and clean, check out her instagram I’ve linked above and stop by Saint Jude Tattoo studio in Manchester if you’re in the area they seem a great bunch of legends !

You might have noticed ma wee pal in the bottom right of the screen at the start there, I had the good fortune to be pals with a wee flightless queen Tree Bumblebee for two weeks, I took her in after she’d sat outside somewhere very open for 4 hours and I read they wait out in the open to die.. couldnae have that.. She became a wee companion while I worked, and it was a joy to have her around. Just seeing the behaviours of a bee, they’re fascinating, I actually thought she was a he before she SHOWED me her stinger, which males don’t have. I'm glad she never used it to sting me ! I think I can confidently say I've seen a bee have the zoomies, och, I'm glad I got even 2 weeks with this little dear, Willow our Dachshund wasn't happy with my split affections though. It’s these small moments of connection, whether with nature or through crafting, just makes me glad I’m still here.
